News on Express Entries to Canada
July 2016 is a busy month and there is some good news for express entries to Canada. There are four draws from the pool and many updates across the Provincial Nominee Program streams. These are individual province immigration programs that align with the Express Entries to Canada program offered by the federal government.
Already more than 3000 candidates in the express entries to Canada pool have gotten an invitation to apply for permanent residence. There were three draws in June alone. The minimum point number for these was 482. As you know, this is determined by the Comprehensive Ranking System. Each draw selects about 750 candidates.
After you receive the invitation (called ITA, which stands for Invitation to Apply) to the express entries to Canada program, you can then submit your application for permanent residence. Yes, you get to include all your accompanying family members! Spouses, common-law partners, dependent children. Canadian Immigration officials intend to process these express entries to Canada applications in a very short time, just six months. So that is another bit of good news!
Alos, most of the candidates who received ITAs in 2015 had core scores on their CRS that were lower than 40, which is the lowest point requirement since the Express Entries to Canada program opened up in January 2015. So, this allowed the majority of candidates who got ITAs to also apply for one of the enhanced provincial program immigration streams. There are many good ones for you to review in consideration of your application to immigrate to Canada:
- BC is looking for skilled workers and international graduates via the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program.
- New Brunswick is looking for IT professionals with its Express Entry Labour Market stream.
- Saskatchewan has just unleashed a new immigration stream. Actually, it is a reopening of its previous International Skilled Worker stream, which took in an additional 500 applications this summer!
